Welcome to Ms. Woulfe's Classroom Blog!

Learning history is easy; learning its lessons is almost impossible.

Write as many details as you can imagine and choose your words to be as specific as you can. You can always eliminate or change some later if you choose to.

Room 1

In this room list things that you see outside the area you are imagining or have looked at in your picture. (If you’re in a room, think of the building on the outside. If you’re in an alley, think of what’s surrounding you.)

Room 2

Concentrate on the light when you look at the same scene. Is it hazy? Bright? Moonlit? Foggy? Sparkling?

Room 3

Write down the sounds you hear. Listen carefully. Are there whispers? Twitters of birds? Rumbles of trucks passing? The creak of train cars as they move slowly along?

Room 4

Write down questions that cross your mind about the place. Do you wonder who has been here before? What just happened before you arrived? How do the people feel who are here? What will happen next?

Room 5

Write down the feelings you have about the scene. Are you horrified? Saddened? Shocked? Grief-stricken? Scared? Overjoyed? Calmed?

Room 6

Write a line that sums up the scene. It could be a single word, a phrase, or a sentence. It should be meaningful and thought-provoking. Repeat this word, phrase, or sentence three times at the end of your poem.

Please remember your brainstorming needs to be completed by January 25th!
