Students have continued analyzing events leading up to the Civil War and have used primary sources and their textbook to determine the Northern and Southern perspective of each. The events they have mastered so far: The Missouri Compromise, The Compromise of 1850, The Kansas-Nebraska Act, the Sumner Beat Down & John Brown’s Raid. Students will be quizzed on these events on November 2nd.
Discussion Questions for you and your student:
1. Using the provided five events, describe the Northern and Southern perspective of each.
2. Put the provided five events in chronological order and explain how tensions are heating up in the United States.
3. Which event played in the biggest role in leading to the Civil War? Why?
